The World Trade Association of Utah Will Host ‘Freight in Utah - The Crossroads of the West' Luncheon--Dec. 5

The World Trade Association Utah is hosting Vern Keeslar, AICP, senior planner, InterPlan Co., and Daniel B. Kuhn, freight planner, Utah Department of Transportation at a "Freight in Utah -- The Crossroads of the West" luncheon on Friday, Dec. 5, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Little America Hotel & Towers, 500 S. Main Street, Salt Lake City.

Vern Keeslar joined the InterPlan team in 2005 after 12 years of local government experience. He is a certified planner with the American Institute of Certified Planners and has taught at Utah Valley State College and Utah State University as an adjunct professor. He received his master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Utah in 1999 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography from Brigham Young University in 1993. He is also State Coordinator for Operation Lifesaver Utah and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

Daniel B. Kuhn has been with UDOT since January 1999 and has served as Freight Planner since August 2002. He came to UDOT from the private sector, having served more than two decades as a railroad official. Kuhn's background includes having lectured about various aspects of transportation and geography since 1966. Since becoming UDOT's freight planner, Daniel has developed a close working relationship with the trucking and distribution warehousing industries in Utah, which provides UDOT with valuable input related to freight mobility and needs.

Luncheon cost is $35 for non-WTA members. For paid WTA members the cost will depend on your membership status. For membership information, please email us at wtaofutah@gmail.com.
