The Governor’s Office of Economic Development’s International Trade and Diplomacy Office has announced an extraordinary opportunity for interested companies to join with GOED at one of the world’s most important mining exhibitions, Expomin 2012, April 9 – 13. Expomin 2012, “The Center of the World Mining Industry” is the premiere mining exhibition for suppliers with Latin American mining interests and will be an opportunity for Utah businesses in the mining sector and other industries to network and expand their customer base.

"Expomin provides a world-wide platform for buyers and sellers in the mining sector to broker deals and explore new ventures both in Latin America and across the globe,” said ITDO’s regional director for the Americas, Miguel Rovira. “Companies that attend will have a multitude of networking and business-related opportunities." The exhibition expects to lure 70,000 participants and 1,200 exhibitors from over 36 countries.

Utah’s business delegation will attend the exposition for the purpose of establishing business partnerships that will accelerate Utah’s global trade, which is already being recognized as one of the few states showing consistent export growth.

The aim of ITDO is to connect Utah businesses with potential partners in Latin America and across the world. GOED will have a booth at the trade show and will invite interested participants to display material at the delegation’s booth, where they will also meet with potential clients.

Though the exhibition provides opportunity for Utah mining executives to either establish themselves or further their interest in Latin America, ITDO will also coordinate match-making services for non-mining related companies who are interested in doing business in Chile.

Because of the size and international importance of the event, interested companies should begin making travel arrangements soon. Those companies interested in learning more about the trade show and accommodations should contact Aaron Neuenschwander at aneuenschwander@utah.gov and 801-538-8737. They can also visit our website:
