Bank of American Fork and CEObuilder are sponsoring a day-long training for local CEOs on Wednesday, July 20 at the bank’s Riverton branch. Michael Hendron, assistant professor of strategy at Brigham Young University’s Marriott School of Business, will discuss several alternative views of what strategy entails, and focus on one especially useful approach to defining strategy. Building on this, he will walk attendees through a framework that helps business leaders develop and articulate clear strategies by focusing on five distinct dimensions of strategy: arenas, vehicles, differentiators, staging, and economic logic. The breadth of this framework, known as the "strategy diamond," encourages consideration of critical aspects of strategy that are often ignored.

Michael Hendron currently teaches courses on strategic management. His areas of research and expertise include strategic decision-making processes, innovation, and organizational change. Most recently his research has focused on identifying conditions and factors that encourage employees at all levels to engage in innovation efforts to help improve performance.

CEObuilder provides day-long events where member CEOs receive MBA-level training and assist one another in addressing business challenges through a peer advisory panel. Event details are as follows:
