Organizing for Comprehensive Internationalization is the theme of the Wednesday, November 9, 2011, Second Annual International Higher Education Summit at the University of Utah.
“Internationalization” has become a common theme on campuses across the nation, reflecting growing recognition that the futures of individual countries and the world as a whole are deeply intertwined, and that the creation of globally competent citizen is a key goal of higher education. By bringing internationalization leaders from across the state together, the goal of this year’s Summit is to share ideas on effective organization-both internally within individual institutions and externally through cooperation among higher educational institutions, government and business-for expanding and deepening internationalization for the benefit of all. Having played a major role in the University of Minnesota’s nationally recognized internationalization efforts, Dr. Gene Allen brings unique and insightful perspectives on these important issues.
Recognizing the success of last year’s inaugural Summit at Utah Valley University, AIEA, the Association of International Education Administrators, has designated the Utah International Higher Education Summit as an official AIEA regional forum.
