RC Willey announced today that it will build a new, state-of-the-art retail store in Draper, Utah. The showroom will be a full-service retail location featuring furniture, appliances, electronics, mattresses and flooring.

The announcement comes during RC Willey’s yearlong celebration of its 80th anniversary to commemorate the company’s growth into one of the country’s top home furnishings retailers with stores in four western states and more than 2,500 employees.

Groundbreaking for the new location is scheduled for Fall 2012 with grand opening set for Fall 2013

“On behalf of all of RC Willey’s associates, let me say how excited we are to be bringing this new store to our home market,” Scott Hymas, CEO of RC Willey, said. “Over the past 15 years, we’ve been growing in markets outside of Utah. Now, during our 80th year in business, I am very proud to announce that RC Willey is investing in our home market with this new store. We are very confident that Utah will continue to grow and prosper over the coming years, and we look forward to serving customers in the quickly growing areas of the Wasatch Front.”

Located on an 8.5-acre parcel of land adjacent to the IKEA store in Draper and facing I-15, this new location will be the largest RC Willey store in the company at approximately 160,000 square feet with roughly 130 employees. Designed by Babcock Design Group and Rick Smith, vice president of visual presentation for RC Willey, the new store concept will be unique to the company, featuring an open, airy and modern design in a two-story building. Glass exterior walls and skylights will allow natural light to fill the space, and the store’s interior will be graced with 14-foot ceilings on the ground floor.
