The Governor’s Office of Economic Development is pleased to announce the 2012 International Summit, a one-day conference for Utah businesses of all sizes interested in expanding their global sales.

The Summit will be held on Monday, October 22, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Salt Lake Marriott Downtown at City Creek, 75 South West Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah. The conference is partially funded through federal grants from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

For the first time in many years, attendees will have the opportunity to meet Utah’s Foreign Trade Representatives from Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. Speakers will discuss:

•    The importance of branding a business globally and creating a presence in the international marketplace.

•    How to best utilize small business resources and where to find them.

•    The importance of Middle Eastern markets and strong economic growth in Latin America to Utah’s economy.

•    How global trade affects each area of the state with emphases on food, transportation, manufacturing, computer and electronic equipment and other key export markets.

Along with learning how to brand a business internationally, the SBA will offer attendees business support tools to help a business grow.

A reception sponsored by Overstock.com directly following the training sessions, will give attendees an opportunity to network with other business leaders and personally connect with the trade representatives.

Attendees will also receive lunch and refreshments as a part of their $20 registration. For more information or to sign up, visit www.business.utah.gov/ISUM
