The Utah-based law firm, Fabian VanCott, has recently acquired the boutique estate planning and business planning firm, Sloan & Sloan, to help round out their robust tax and estate planning practice group.
Sloan & Sloan is made up of seven attorneys brought together by David E. Sloan and Stephen R. Sloan. With nearly 200 years of experience practicing the law between the team, Sloan & Sloan’s team is licensed in at least six different jurisdictions. Their attorneys have represented many clients in tax and other matters in State District Court, the Utah Supreme Court, Federal District Court for the State of Utah, the U.S. Tax Court and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Additional attorneys joining Fabian VanCott are Mark F. Dahle Jr., William J. Whitaker, Jennifer A. Whitlock, Richard W. Evans and David E. Salisbury.
“We are proud to welcome a firm as highly esteemed as Sloan & Sloan into the Fabian VanCott family,” said Jason Hardin, president, Fabian VanCott. “This acquisition signifies a great step for our firm in strengthening our tax and estate planning team with a new group of respected, experienced and amiable attorneys. And our clients won’t have to go far to use their services since their offices are in our same building. We look forward to working together and creating a successful future.”
The law firm Fabian co-founded, Fabian & Clendenin, merged four years ago with the former firm of VanCott, Bagley, Cornwall & McCarthy, one of the few firms in the Intermountain West with an even longer history than Fabian, dating back 144 years.
